Meet Reprise, a dynamic ensemble of young virtuosos who are redefining the music scene. Their repertoire is a vibrant mixtape of the decades, spanning from the groovy 80s, the grungy 90s, the transformative 2000s, and beyond. They're not just musicians, they're time-travelers, bringing the past to the present with their own unique twist.
But it's not just about the music. A Reprise show is an experience. It's unpredictable, it's exciting, it's a rollercoaster ride of rhythm and sound. You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat, eagerly anticipating their next musical move.
Their journey began in the hallways of high school, where their shared passion for music sparked a bond that has only grown stronger. It was the fall of 2022 when they played their first show together under the name The Descendants, a moment that marked the beginning of their incredible journey. Today as they pursue their collegiate degrees, they continue to carry the torch of their musical camaraderie, creating a symphony of friendship and talent that resonates in every performance.
In Spring 2024, they embraced a new identity as Reprise, a name that truly encapsulates their eclectic style. Why Reprise, you ask?
Well, in music, a reprise is a repeated passage. It's about bringing back the old, but with a new flavor, a new twist. And that's exactly what they do - they take the music you know and love, and they make it their own. .
So, get ready to be swept off your feet by Reprise, where every note is a new adventure.

Michael Garvert, Drums
Michael’s journey with music began early, pounding out rhythms on the drum set passed down from his older brother in the basement. He would jam to music of various styles, enriching his powerful beats and tight precision. Growing up in Plainville, Kansas, his various performances at Plainville High School earned him spots in the FHSU Tiger Drumline and Pep Band.
Today, Michael brings that same passion and drive to the stage with Reprise, keeping the spirit of rock alive with every performance. When he’s not behind the drums, Michael is studying to become a physical therapist, committed to helping others stay strong and active. Whether in music or life, he believes in pouring his whole heart into every beat.
Catch him behind the kit—he's always keeping time, on stage and in life.
